Thanks for answering my question about not being manipulative in sales effort - Bob's answer was completely what I needed to hear. Also like his guideline of offering 10x the value in comparison to asking price of a product. This was a great call.

I am really surprised that it's ok to offer so many sales emails in relation to ezines but it is good to know. Everything he said about what works are the same things that make me buy offers I get.

I saw Bob speak at the Learning Annex many, many years ago about making a living as a Freelance business writer - glad to see he's become even more successful.

Can't think of anything unetchical about it.

It's like me saying to Bob: "Can I send an email to my list suggesting they check out your newsletter"?

Then I'd send my list an email saying "Hey, I really love Bob's newsletter - check it out".

And, if Bob feels good about recommending my newsletter, he'd do the same in return.

Note: We are not sharing or giving away emails. We are emailing to our own internal permission-based subscriber list, and referring them to a resource. The subscribers still have the choice to optin or not. If they don't, they won't see any emails from our partner.

The frequency of your E-Zine determines how often subscribers tolerate promotional emails. For example, if your Ezine is monthly, you probably can mail an additional 1 to 2 emails a week.

Remember to test!

Bob's detailed Instructions on "the" Email and landing page helped demystify how to write a very useful email and landing page. Now I know why we are encouraged to do what.
 Very clear, very helpful.
Thank you, Lou and Bob!
 Warmly,

I'm listening from the UK and the local time is now 3am. The quality of the contents of this webinar have kept me up way past my beauty sleep time. But I'd rather be ugly and enlightened than handsome and ignorant. Way to go guys :)

Thanks,
This was great, a bit fast but lots of quality, lots to learn from this, very clear and concise
List Swap and confidentiality ''We don't share it '', what about that?

Q: How does Bob use auto responder series? Does he mean that once someone gives him their email, he sends this series of emails, which over time provide a good amount of content and convinces the person that they want to work with him?

Hi Lou,
Great seminar.... Kudos to you and Bob.
A question I have: When entering a new market and you don't have a related list, how would you approach JV partners to get them to market your products through their lists?
Cheers,
Paul M.

Dave, I don't know if this will help you out or not. (This is also a question to Lou and Bob).

I'm coming out with a product of 10 songs. On my site I'm going to have the lyrics available on HTML pages (for those who just want to see them but not print them; most likely before buying, and as an incentive to buy) and also as a download that can be printed (for those who want printed lyrics of specific songs, most likely after they buy). There will also be short sound samples of each track.

Question: Should my copy still have the amount of testimonies you suggest, or to what extent would it be overkill, because, in this case, potential clients could actually see all the words and hear song samples firsthand, and therefore be able to decide for themselves, without "relying" upon testimonials?

Thanks!

I took three pages of notes. Great webinar filled with content (I could not write quickly enough), I need to catch some more on the replay. I suggest that you listen to it more than once. One take away for me was the C=4M+3V+ 2(i-f) - 2A. I had never seen this before.

Perhaps I'm "arrogant," but when I see a long landing page (squeeze page), I immediately feel repelled. I feel like I'm being "sold." Are there circumstances / products / audiences (perhaps others that consider themselves "elite") that would react more positively to more succinct content with links to more details?

I took away that a picture and bio on the sales page adds credibility. I thought they would look at my blog for the 'about me' section

also the 'Belcher Button' is that dark orange with blue writing with red dashes around it is a proven technique to convert better. He also includes credit card symbols and the text Add to Cart, rather than Buy Now.

Questions

1) Do you want the top to be a color or a particular color for the pre-head and order button?__If so, is there one that is better or keep your business colors?

2) What if product is new and so there are no testimonials?

QUESTION: How much does design matter? Just by looking at the page (even without reading anything), if a visitor gets an impression that the site looks "too salesy" or "not trustworthy" (JUST from the design and layout), how does that effect the conversion rate?

Action items and take aways for me

1. Have a free newsletter on top of the ethical bribe.
2. Keep sending the emails as "most do not email their list enough" - your stats on click through and open rate encourages me. Just need to keep doing it!

Thanks for great guidelines!

when using both video on landing page, how much of the direct script of video should be included and how much should be new content or bullet points? Will people use both or do they usually select one or the other? Also, how is it best to get testemonials into video sales presentations. I also have been paying attention to Bob's e-mails and his offers are reasonable and high value - great for those of us who have not made our millions yet.

I also have been paying attention to Bob's e-mails and his offers are reasonable and high value – great for those of us who have not made our millions yet.

Was so relieved to hear it will be transcribed. I could not keep up with all the content of Bob's presentation which was great. Just could not write fast enough, I could not get into the webinar so only listened. Thanks!

What really inspired me is the information Bob shared about the number of times we can email our list a offer. And I have a better understanding of email marketing.

My biggest takeaways:
1) create email as text within HTML shell newsletter (I'll have to ask my VA how to do that!)
2) spam website
3) key pointers on what to include in newsletter format - great content!

QUESTION: I see Bob uses a lot of links above the fold. Does that not cause distraction? Don't you want your visitor to have only ONE decision to make, therefore give them only ONE link? (Because if they need to "choose" between different links, they'll most likely NOT choose any). Can you please clarify this point? Thanks.

Please check your "junk/spam" email folders as well. Sometimes email software will send legitimate emails there by mistake. If you don't see it within 15 minutes, register again at the link above.

I have a 7 pm meeting tonight, too, so cannot be on the live call. Will look forward to hearing the recording! Thanks, Lou, for arranging this. It's a GREAT topic!

We're looking to offer daily email updates on your favorite baseball team ... as our product. When one's product is email, is there anything special to consider when constructing an email "advertising" campaign?

Could you please walk us through a sample campaign and detail the major components and how they fit into the picture, interconnect and the importance of each. E.G. The major components are; my money site, a landing page, a sales letter, E-Mail.

One of the points is:
How often to email or send your ezine to keep opt-out rates low

Though I understand the point of that surely they are occasions (esp if cashflow is tight) where you might want to risk unsubscribes to strongly encourage a sales as soon as possible.

Are their any tips about making writing autoresponders fun (they really irritate me I feel so uninspired). Or is outsourcing the only solution.

Basic question: I have a small counseling/coaching practice. How do I build a contact list so that I can reach enough people to form a group interested in my teleseminar/webinar?

How do we get great sales results using these tactics WITHOUT making people feel manipulated?

Also, if there's any chance of getting a replay of this, I'd be so grateful - have a previous exact same time commitment that I cannot break. Thanks.

Lou,
Thanks for the invitation. What colors are the best colors to use?
Does length matter and do images help with conversion?

Currently, the emails I send out are invitations to FREE webinars that are being offered by my church. We do prequalify people before they are allowed to enroll in a webinar, but because there is no monetary cost to attend our webinars, does that change the approach you are recommending to us today?

It's always my intention that you get information that's both releveant and valuable to you. The best way for me to know what that is, is that you simply ask!

Ask your most important questions about writing and designing high-clickthrough, high-converting, sales-generating email and landing page campaigns.

If someone else has already asked the question - add a reply to that person's comment showing your interest. We'll answer the most popular/requested questions first, and answer as many questions as time allows.
